Great fire in Münchner retirement home: 60 rescues and injuries!
On December 24, 2024, dramatic scenes occurred in a retirement home in Munich when the fire brigade was alerted to a room fire in Oettingenstrasse around 2:30 p.m. The fire spreads quickly and developed into a large fire as dense swaths of smoke came out of the third floor. Measures initiated immediately included a fire -fighting attack from outside via turntable ladders and an inner attack. The emergency services also had to save some of the 60 evacuated residents, many of them, saved them from their rooms, with not only firefighters, but also the staff of the home and visitors. Despite the quick intervention, the flames could not be avoided to the attic, which ultimately led to the ignition of the historic bell tower, like fireworld.atA total of around 120 firefighters with five turntable ladders and a lifting stage were deployed. The post -extinguishing work took far into the night, as the roof opened and the sheet metal facade of the bell tower had to be removed. 15 injuries were brought to local clinics, while the evacuated residents had to be accommodated in other buildings. The affected area of the retirement home remains uninhabitable according to this incident. The police have taken over the investigation into the cause of the fire.
