Fire drama in Weißenbach: Injured firefighter to Kellerbrand

Weißenbach am Lech, Österreich - in the idyllic Weißenbach am Lech on February 28, 2025 at 4:55 p.m. a serious fire broke out in a local city. The 62-year-old Austrian owner was busy sealing the inner walls of the Stadel with foam and heated the room with a gas oven. Suddenly he noticed flames on the ground and reacted quickly: he threw the oven outside, but the fire spread quickly. This led to the explosion of two gas bottles stored in the Stadel. Fortunately, the alarmed volunteer fire brigade managed to extinguish the fire, but the Stadel, in which a tractor and diverse tool were also stored, burned out partially. The man was brought to the BKH Reutte with injuries indefinitely, but there were no other injuries. Just a few weeks later, on March 13 at around 9:20 p.m., there was another fire in a family home in the same community. The 69-year-old homeowner, also a member of the volunteer fire brigade, discovered the fire in the basement and made an extinguishing attempt. Due to suspicion of slight flue gas poisoning, he was brought to the hospital in Reutte for examination. The Weißenbach volunteer fire brigade was quickly on site and was able to successfully extinguish the fire. A total of 26 fire brigade with three vehicles as well as emergency services and police forces were deployed.
