In an unprecedented step, 593 police officers were released in England and Wales! This drastic measure comes to a series of scandals that shaken the public's trust in the police. The numbers published by College of Policing on Tuesday show an alarming increase of over 50 percent compared to the previous year.

Among the dismissed are 74 civil servants who were fired due to sexual crimes and misconduct, as well as 18, who were in possession of material for the sexual exploitation of children. The most common reasons for the layoffs were dishonesty with 125 cases and discriminatory behavior with 71 cases. These frightening statistics throw a bright light on the challenges with which the police are faced with.

"There is no place where those who do not fulfill the high standards of our police forces cannot hide."
