Austria in front of a historical coalition pact: NEOS coordinate digitally!
A historical moment for Austrian politics is imminent: The Neos members vote digitally about a pioneering coalition agreement that could seal a triple coalition. This reports Kosmo . The vote that takes place on Sunday requires a two -thirds majority of around 1,500 members of the approximately 3,000 NEOs to confirm the package. It is noteworthy that participation is digitally - a novelty that enables members to vote without a physical presence in the balloon hall of the Vienna Arsenal. The party is optimistic and does not assume a failure of the vote. In the event of a positive vote, the new government could already be engaged on Monday, even if an official date is still pending.
New government council is certain
A look at the changes in personnel reveals that NEOS party chairwoman Beate Meinl-Reisinger should move into the cabinet as Foreign Minister, while Christoph Return will take on the role of the Minister of Education. Sepp Schellhorn will act as State Secretary for Deregulation in the Foreign Ministry, which is considered a remarkable progress for the party. At the same time, the ÖVP has clarified its last personnel issues. Here Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer becomes Minister of Economic Affairs, Claudia Plakolm becomes responsible for Europe, while Interior Minister Gerhard Karner and Minister of Defense Klaudia Tanner keep her offices. Christian Stocker leads the ÖVP team as the future Federal Chancellor, with Alexander Pröll as the new State Secretary, such as Orf reported.
On the part of the SPÖ, Michaela Schmidt will take over the Vice Chancellery, supported by Markus Marterbauer as finance minister. Further key positions go to experienced politicians, including Korinna Schumann as Minister of Social Affairs and Peter Hanke as Minister of Transport. These personnel opportunities show that all parties are already on course to take on their new tasks, while confidential discussions with Federal President Alexander van der Bellen are also planned. The outcome of the NEOS vote is thus considered crucial for the future political landscape of Austria.
