A scandalous transport fraud shakes the transport industry! At the end of November 2023, an Austrian company commissioned a local transport company with the delivery of valuable copper to France. Surprisingly, it turned out that the two truck drivers, a pole and a Croatian, did not deliver the load as planned. Instead, they escaped the copper in Croatia and have disappeared since then. Attempts to contact with the Slovenian subcontractor have so far been unsuccessful, such as ORF Tyrol reported.
In another exciting development, the Swiss Post has finalized the takeover of the French logistics company Portmann Gestung SAS. This acquisition, which has been completed since the end of September 2023, makes Portmann a 100 percent subsidiary of the Swiss Post. The company, which was founded in 1946 and employed over 790 employees at 17 locations in France as well as in Luxembourg and Poland, is considered an important partner in transport between France and Switzerland. Loud Business Industry Portmann will remain active under the existing name and keep all previous employees on the same conditions.
