Celebrate the World Radio Day with Helga Rabl-Stadler and Karl Markovics!
Laimgrubengasse 10, 1060 Wien, Österreich - On February 13, 2025, the International World Radio Day will be celebrated, which has been celebrating the medium of radio since its proclamation by UNESCO in 2012. Ö1 uses this special occasion to send live with two very special guests, Helga Rabl-Stadler and Karl Markovics. Helga Rabl-Stadler, the former President of the Salzburg Festival, will shape the "Pasticcio" at 8.20 a.m. together with Ö1 music director Elke Tchaikner. In the course of the day, they philosophize about the love of the radio and discuss the exciting variety of the Ö1 program, which ranges from music to stories, as they are in the press release from ots.at
The afternoon is accompanied by Karl Markovics, the celebrated actor and director. From 1:00 p.m. there will be a live discussion about public service broadcasting culture in Europe, in which Markovics talks to Thomas Bergmann from the EBU office in Brussels about the social policy responsibility of the media. Markovics will also comment on various programs and react to the latest music until 2 p.m.
Salzburg's Pentecost Festival
The premiere of this festival not only marked the artistic entry of the new President, but also the symbolic farewell to Helga Rabl-Stadler, who was present as a viewer for the first time after 27 years. This was a bittersweet moment for the festival, the artistic heritage of which she had a significant impact. Kristina Hammer, who entered the stage in a striking pink evening dress, is now bringing new colors and perspectives, while her arrival was followed with great interest. This mix of celebrated traditions and fresh impulses shows the dynamic life of the Salzburg Festival and the unbroken commitment to cultural excellence.
