Children shape the future: Dock for Change starts inspiring initiative!

The Dock for Change at the University of Vienna initiative is an exciting project that focuses on children and young people and enables them to actively participate in the design of their future. Around 7,000 people have taken part in this project since the start of 2022. The aim is to strengthen the children's voices by presenting their visions and ideas for a sustainable future. In the future workshops, they work out concrete measures together with experts from science, business and politics to address complex environmental problems, as reported on Today.

children shape the future

The annual final conferences of Dock for Change are a highlight in which about 100 change agents, i.e. active co -designers, present their future visions. Together with over 1,000 other children and adolescents, you have created a manifesto with ten concrete claims for the annual topic. At the second conference on June 14, 2024 in Vienna, these demands were presented to the public, whereby in detail is reported on kinderbuero-uniwien.at . The event is not only a platform for the children, but also a way for the adults to listen and learn from the creative ideas of the younger ones.

With a tireless effort, the project managers promote the participation of the young generation. They encourage the participants to raise their voice and act specifically. In practice, this means that children use their creative energy to plan and carry out actions. Dock for Change thus offers a remarkable framework for promoting climate policy engagement and active thinking in matters of sustainability. The awareness of the importance of such projects, as well as the willingness of many social actors, is growing and supporting the ideas of the children.
