Unimarkt Weitra: Will the supermarket come back soon? Mayor gives hope!
In the small town of Weitra, a significant change in retail has indicated. The once estimated Unimarkt has been closed since the end of 2024 after the operator Günter Haider announced to withdraw due to age. Mayor Patrick Layr remains optimistic and said that talks are already going to have the hope of reopening the supermarket soon, as NÖN reported.

In the meantime, the structure of the Unimarkt group has also changed. Georg Pfeiffer has withdrawn as a majority owner, and Andreas Haider, previously managing director, has acquired 100 percent of the shares in the Unimarkt group as part of a management Buy-Out.
