Ten years of parish association: anniversary celebrated in Töging and Erharting!

On Sunday morning, a very special event was celebrated in the parish church of St. Josef: The Töging-Erharting parish association, which was founded ten years ago through the merger of the Catholic parishes of St. Johann Baptist and St. Josef in Töging and St. Peter and Paul in Erharting, celebrated its anniversary with a festive service. This unification was completed in October 2014 and has since given the communities a new, common home.

As part of the celebration, a new pastoral concept that has been developed since May 2022 was presented. This concept is intended to serve as a guiding document for future work in the parish association. It is a significant step that shows how communities want to respond to current challenges and develop meaningfully.

Grown community

The merger has not only strengthened administrative aspects, but also the community between the parishes. Church visitors and community members from both regions have perceived the changes positively and expressed their solidarity. The service provided a platform on which the history and successes of the parish association could be honored.

“We have become a strong team working together to meet the spiritual needs of our parishioners,” said a parish spokesman. These words reflect the positive changes that accompanied the founding of the parish association. The joint celebration was characterized by a feeling of belonging and community and showed that the parishes can grow together despite their differences.

The presentation of the new pastoral concept was followed closely by community members. It includes strategies to promote faith and togetherness at a time when many churches are facing declining attendance. It shows that active and lively community work is possible even today.

The celebrations ended with a lunch where participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas and share their experiences. This tradition of sociability and togetherness has become more important in recent years and will probably continue to have a high priority in the parish association in the future.

An anniversary like this is not only an occasion to look back, but also an opportunity to shape the future together. The Töging-Erharting Parish Association strives to continue to be a place of faith and community and to address the challenges that modern society brings with it together.
