Welcome to Salzburg: New Center opened for international specialists!

The welcome center was recently opened in Salzburg, with the aim of supporting highly qualified, international specialists in the areas of healthcare and information technology. Deputy Governor Stefan Schnöll (ÖVP) emphasized the importance of this initiative to prevent the drainage of talented specialists. "With the service center, I would like to prevent the specialists from migration and stay in other countries. A real struggle has flared up between the countries and Salzburg has to appear on the map," said Schnöll.

Support for international specialists

The welcome center, which can be found at Kaigasse 13 in Salzburg, offers extensive support for international specialists and their families who plan to permanently move to the region. In addition to personal advice, which is offered by five employees: inside, the specialists also receive help in recognizing their training. This is particularly important for foreign health and nursing specialists who often have to go through lengthy processes in order to be able to work in Austria. City councilor Andrea Brandner (SPÖ) pointed out the difficult framework: "For this I need a nostrification and this can take up to one and a half, two years in order to be able to really work in Austria. This makes it very, very tedious for our foreign nurses - especially because it is easier in Germany." The welcome center is pursuing a clear focus on the support of people from third countries and ensures that in addition to professional integration, they also receive support for everyday challenges.
