Festival of the variety in Bad Salzungen: together strong for tolerance!

On September 18, the Pfitzbachpark in Bad Salzungen experienced a colorful meeting when the “Festival of Diversity” offered the citizens and visitors a multicultural experience. Under the motto "Experience diversity and being strong together", numerous people came together to enjoy and exchange the diverse range of activities.

from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., an entertaining program was waiting for visitors to all ages. The highlights included a bouncy castle made available by the district sports association Bad Salzungen e.V., and an exciting role slide that the State Sports Association Thuringia e.V. The children and adolescents could also become creative: the Froebelmobil of the Children's and Youth Art School Wartburg district offered various artistic activities. Particular attention was also paid to the BMX and skate show, which was enthusiastically accepted by the spectators. In addition, there was the "Doses throwing against prejudices" campaign, which was organized by the youth migration service and promoted the playful exchange about integration. The Thuringian Forest offered exciting natural preparations for visitors interested in nature, while the Wartburg district and youth workers of the city of Bad Salzungen presented games and self-designed graffiti campaigns. Of course, the culinary offers were not missing: coffee, cake and popcorn provided the guests with delicacies during the festival.

The organization of the festival was the result of a collaboration of several institutions. The International BUND - Youth Migration Service Wartburgkreis, the JFZ Allendorf and the city of Bad Salzungen had worked hand in hand to set up such an inspiring event. The festival was supported by a number of partners, including integration management Wartburgkreis, the JobCenter Wartburgkreis, the Thuringian Forest, the pregnancy advice of the DRK Bad Salzungen and many other organizations that took care of young people and families.

The event was more than just a festival; It was a symbolic sign of openness, tolerance and community. In the context of the intercultural week 2024 in the Wartburg district, the “Festival of Diversity” set an important sign of cohesion in a pluralistic society.

The promotion of the festival was made possible by the partnership for democracy "Denk Bunt in the Wartburgkreis", the part of the federal program "Living Democracy!" is. This program is supported by the Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth, while the Thuringian state program for democracy, tolerance and cosmopolitanism was "thinking" by the Thuringian Ministry of Youth, Education and Sport. These initiatives are actively committed to promoting a democratic and respectful coexistence.
