AllgäuStrom Volleys celebrate a thrilling 3-1 win against Erfurt!

In a thrilling volleyball match in front of around 450 enthusiastic fans in the Allgäu Hall, the AllgäuStrom Volleys celebrated a dramatic 3-1 home win against the strong guests from Erfurt. With this victory, the Sonthofen women consolidated their second place in the table and showed that they are ready to fight for the top.

The first set started anything but promising for the hosts. Erfurt, with powerful serves and an impressive block, mercilessly exploited the initial uncertainties of the volleys and secured the first set 25:18. But the Sonthofen women were not discouraged. In the second set, coach Vanessa Müller brought Nadja Roth into the game, which had an immediate effect. Captain Katharina Schöll started with a series of five powerful serves and catapulted her team into the lead. With new self-confidence and precise ball distribution by Asiye Gürsoy, the volleys turned the set and won 25:17.

Intense exchange of blows and thrilling finale

The third set developed into an exciting duel in which both teams fought for every point. At 22:22 the game seemed to be in the balance, but the Sonthofen women's nerves brought them the set at 25:22. The fourth set was the highlight of the evening: Erfurt initially took the lead 1:5, but the volleys found their way back into the game. Mareike Ulbrich's series of serves was the key to returning the pressure. In a nerve-wracking final, both teams fended off several set and match points until Sonthofen finally scored the decisive point at 33:31. The hall was roaring with enthusiasm as the AllgäuStrom Volleys celebrated their well-deserved victory.

The Volleys' next home game against VCO Dresden is on November 16th. The team is determined to continue the winning streak and make the spectators ecstatic once again!
