Shock find in Vöcklabruck: Children's body discovered - investigations run!

In a shocking incident, the remains of a child were discovered on Thursday in the middle school for sports and integration (Sims) in Vöcklabruck. During renovation work, workers in the basement came across the partly mummified and partly skeletonized remnants that were kept in a container. Immediately after the gruesome find, the school management informed the police and the educational directorate. The State Criminal Police Office of Upper Austria, especially the body and life department known as the murder group, have started the investigation to clarify the identity of the child and the circumstances of death, such as Cosmo reported.

The investigators who came to school in civilian clothes are looking for answers to this mysterious case. Previous information suggests that the mummy is older than the 116 -year -old school building itself. Alfred Klampfer, educational director of Upper Austria, explained that the school immediately informed the police and that they will wait for the results of the investigations. There is already speculation that the child may have been used as teaching material, which is not so rare. Examples from other places, such as the solemn funeral of a skeleton in Germany in 2022, showed how such remains were previously treated. These considerations were also ORF taken up.

The ongoing investigation is headed by the Wels public prosecutor and the body was examined on Friday, but the results are still pending. The school building in Dr.-Alois-Scherer-Straße, which was originally opened as a "Kaiser-Franz-Josef Jubilee Citizens' School", now plays a central role in this tragic history. The question of how the child's remains came into the basement and what circumstances led to this find remains unanswered. The authorities strive to bring light to this dark matter, while the school community is confronted with a shocking reality.
