Kiel.Early on Sunday morning, a 44-year-old man attacked the police with two knives on Blumenstrasse. The officers were forced to use their firearms to defuse the situation. The city of Kiel is planning to rebuild the Düsternbrook seaside resort on the Kiel line for an impressive 4.1 million euros. The reason? The old supporting structure of the bathing jetty must be replaced by 2030 at the latest to ensure safety in storms and ice. The construction work will also affect the catering industry on the jetty, as the concession for the popular “Seebar” expires at the end of 2025.
