Bitterfeld/MZ. – Deutsche Telekom has announced that it has significantly improved mobile communications coverage in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district. In the last two months, two additional sites have been expanded with LTE technology, providing greater coverage in the region. These measures not only increase mobile phone coverage, but also increase bandwidth, which improves reception, especially in buildings.
The new locations are located in the municipalities of Köthen and Osternienburger Land and are also focused on supply along the Saxony-Anhalt-South railway line. "We see a constantly growing need for bandwidth of around 30 percent per year. We are therefore continuing our efforts to expand mobile communications," explained company spokesman Georg von Wagner.
Expansion of mobile resources
With the latest expansion, Telekom now operates a total of 71 locations in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district. Household coverage already reaches an impressive 99 percent. The company plans to build an additional 20 locations by 2026. In addition, extensions with LTE or even 5G are planned for 21 existing radio masts. This shows how determined Telekom is to continuously improve the quality and availability of its services in the region.
The company Deutsche Funkturm, which is responsible for building the cell phone sites, works closely with the municipalities and property owners.
