Last aid course and mourning group: Support in Gartenstadt!

The Hospiz Elias, located at Styriastrasse 12 in Gartenstadt, will offer an information course on the basics of the hospice accompaniment on Saturday, October 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This last aid course conveys important basic knowledge that is essential for the accompaniment of dying and their relatives. Interested parties have the opportunity to register until October 23. Registration can be conveniently made by email to bildungungwerk@hospiz-elias.de or by phone at 0621 6355470. In addition, on Monday, October 28, at 6 p.m., a fixed grief group will open their doors for everyone who wants to deal intensively with the topic of grief. In this group there are eleven themed evenings, followed by a final evening. The participants have the opportunity to express their preferences at the first meeting and to decide which topics are discussed. The first two evenings are devoted to getting to know each other so that the participants can arrive in a protected framework. The course fee of 110 euros is only due after this orientation phase. The mourning group is under the direction of the experienced and certified mourning companion Gabriele Kettenhofen and Dietmar Breininger. Registration is also possible here by email to grief@hospiz-elias.de or by phone.

importance of the offers

These two offers are particularly important because they offer people support in challenging life situations. The last aid course is a valuable opportunity to learn how to better accompany the dying. This is particularly relevant in a society that often shy away from dealing with death. The course not only promotes understanding of the death process, but also the empathy and communication skills that are decisive in these sensitive moments.

The mourning group, on the other hand, offers a room in which mourners can share and understand their experiences. Dealing with loss is usually a lonely journey, but the exchange with like -minded people can donate comfort and open up new perspectives. It is often helpful to talk to others about grief to understand and process your own process. The professional accompaniment of the mourning companion ensures that the participants are supported in a respectful and sensitive environment.

Overall, these initiatives of the ELIAS Hospice contribute to promoting awareness of death and grief in society and standing up in the most difficult times of life.
