The last layer of the ILS Bad Kreuznach: handover to Mainz takes place!
The integrated control center (ILS) Bad Kreuznach successfully ended its last layer yesterday after almost two decades. This closure takes place as part of an orderly handover to the interim-integrated control center Mainz, which will be responsible for five regions from the middle of the year, including the state capital Mainz, the city of Worms, the district of Mainz-Bingen, Bad Kreuznach and Alzey-Worms.
Bad Kreuznach's District Administrator Bettina Dickes assured that nothing will change in emergency care for the citizens. The emergency calls will continue to be treated equally and the rescue equipment is sent on site instead of from Mainz. The responsible emergency numbers and contacts also remain unchanged. The decision to close the ILS Bad Kreuznach was already made from eight to seven in 2015 in the course of a reduction in the control centers in Rhineland-Palatinate. In 2020 the final closure was decided until January 2025.
future responsibilities
With the takeover by the I-ILS Mainz, the organizational structure in the region is restructured. The Birkenfeld district will also be assigned to the Trier control center in the future. In May 2025, the Rhein-Hunsrück district of the Koblenz control center is affiliated, which represents a further adjustment in the rescue control center.
