Record amount for the fundraising run: students show great commitment!

A powerful sign of solidarity was made on September 20, 2024, when the Edenkoben High School held its tenth fundraising run. Shortly before the celebration of life, World Children's Day, around 900 students and teachers laced up their running shoes and showed incredible effort in the Weinstraße Stadium. In bright sunshine, the participants ran a distance of 3 kilometers and collected an impressive 25,000 euros for various social projects. The headmaster initiated the event with a motivational speech and thanked the main organizer Christine Riethmüller for the perfect organization.

The income from the donation run will go specifically to: Children's hospice Dudenhofen, the Lebenshilfe Neustadt, the children's village in Silz and the high school support association. It was determined in advance that the money for the children's hospice would be used specifically for animal therapy measures, such as for the assistance dog Lotte. The donations will be used to refurnish two children's rooms in the children's village, while Lebenshilfe will use the funds to give disabled children the opportunity to explore other cities and countries.

The students ran far beyond the average, with the class winners from 9b standing out with a team performance of an average of 13.83 kilometers. Special recognition goes to the individual fighters who covered up to 18 kilometers. At this running event, not only the sporting achievements were of great importance, but also the community spirit and the support from parents and spectators, who ensured a good atmosphere along the route. This not only creates a financial contribution, but also a new awareness of social responsibility.
