Austria's tourism is experiencing an extraordinary upswing! In 2024, the most successful year in the history of domestic tourism was recorded with 154.29 million overnight stays. In comparison to 2023, the overnight stays rose by 2.1 percent, which is particularly due to an increase in international guests. The increase from the USA, which achieved a record value with 2.38 million overnight stays, is particularly gratifying. Growth and new records
The tourist hotspots Tyrol and Salzburg jointly recorded over 79 million overnight stays, while Vienna had the highest gains compared to 2019 with an increase of 7.2 percent. With 18.86 million overnight stays, the city of Vienna again cracked a record.
