Austria's eagles win bronze in the mixed jumping at the World Championships!

Trondheim experienced a sporting spectacle! At the Nordic World Ski Championships, the Austrian Adler secured the coveted bronze medal in the mixed team competition. In front of an impressive backdrop, the quartet, consisting of Eva Pinkelnig, Stefan Kraft, Jacqueline Seifriedsberger and Jan Hörl, took third place, behind the superior Norwegians and the strong Slovenians. This marks the fifth medal for Austria - an achievement that makes the nation proud, as the team now has one silver and four bronze medals in their kitty. As the oe24 website reported, Austria was in third place after the first round and the competition was fierce. Seifriedsberger's performance gave rise to some headaches, as her inconsistent jumps caused tension in the team.

But rescue came from Jan Hörl! “At first I thought it wasn't going well,” admitted the Salzburg native, who impressed with an impressive jump of 134 meters in the rain and even set a hill record in the final with a jump of 139 meters. According to sn.at, the team was 7.8 points ahead of Germany, the five-time mixed team world champion, despite an interim balance that did not seem rosy. In particular, Pinkelnig (110 m) and the ailing Seifriedsberger (117 m) had to struggle in the first round. However, Kraft (130.5 m) and Hörl delivered considerable jumps, while Andreas Wellinger from Germany also challenged the competition in his own way.

A competition on a knife's edge

The final encounter was nerve-wracking. The red-white-red quartet was ahead of Germany at halftime with 12.8 points, and every jump counted. But in the end it was Hörl who kept his nerve and secured the decisive jump for the team. This exciting mixed team competition remains in the minds of fans as both Norway and Slovenia showed impressive performances and strutted for their fans. According to sn.at, the gold medal for Norway in front of their home crowd was a brilliant confirmation of their dominance in winter sports.
