Musk gives away millions: Shocking election strategy in Pennsylvania!
A controversial plan by tech billionaire and Trump supporter Elon Musk is causing a stir in the United States. Musk has announced plans to award $1 million a day to one registered voter in crucial states. This comes as part of an initiative focused on supporting Donald Trump. Pennsylvania's Democratic Governor Josh Shapiro has already indicated that investigators may review the action.
The millions in gifts that Musk is distributing as part of his “America PAC” campaign are aimed at voters who sign a petition. This petition promotes the right to freedom of expression and the right to bear arms. So far, Musk has already given away several million dollars in Pennsylvania, a key state for the upcoming elections, including in Harrisburg and Pittsburgh.
Criticism of legal validity
Law professor Rick Hasen from the University of California sees Musk's actions as possible illegality. He notes that participation in the lottery for payout is limited to registered voters. This regulation could be interpreted as an incentive for voter registration, which is illegal under US election law because paying to register or vote is directly prohibited.
Shapiro expressed concern about Musk's influence on the US election campaign in an interview with NBC. He warns of the potential impact of large sums of money going directly into voters' pockets, calling it "extremely worrying." His goal is for up to two million voters in battleground Pennsylvania to sign the petition, for which they would receive $100 each. The state could be crucial because it provides 19 electors necessary to win the presidential election.
Mobilization in contested states
Musk's strategy appears to be aimed at mobilizing particularly conservative voters in these key states. The entrepreneur has invested considerable sums in campaign support for Trump in the past, including around $75 million to the “America PAC” in just three months. Musk also uses his Platform X to spread Trump's political messages and support conspiracy theories that baselessly affect Democrats.
Trump is running against Democrat Kamala Harris in the upcoming election. Musk is considered to have a strategically important role, as Trump has indicated in the past that Musk could take on an important position overseeing government finances if he wins the election. Musk has been complaining about the government's strict requirements for some time and has called for less regulation for his companies, Tesla and SpaceX.
