The 1st FC Düren was able to win the Sparkassen-Hallen Cup 2024 on December 26, 2024 by defeating VfL Vichtal 3-1 after extra time in the final. This marks the second win of the Hallencup for Düren after the success in 2020. The tournament delighted the audience for four days with a total of 25 participating teams.

The next edition of the indoor cup, the 39th in total, begins on December 27, 2024, with the final round on January 4, 2025. The Düren preliminary round starts at 6 p.m. in the Birkesdorf sports hall. Defending champion Düren will compete in the opening game against Viktoria Arnoldsweiler and has decided to send his U23 to the preliminary round to qualify for the final round.

Alemannia Aachen does not take part this year because it is in the training camp in Turkey. In the Düren preliminary round, the teams also have to compete against Turkish SV Düren. The second Düren group includes Sportfreunde Düren, Alemannia Lendersdorf and TuS Langerwehe. The return of FC Wegberg-Beeck after several years of abstinence, which plays in Erkelenz and competes against SV Helpenstein and Sportfreunde Uevekoven, is particularly remarkable.

The final round format stipulates that the winners of the preliminary rounds and the best second fight for the title. As the Aachener Zeitung will also be reported as a sponsor and support the tournament in 2025.
