GPS broadcaster exposes thieves: Car trailer on A7 spectacularly secured!
Gelnhausen, Deutschland - A stolen car trailer reappeared thanks to a clever GPS station! In an exciting campaign, the officers of the Hildesheim motorway police caught two suspected thieves on Tuesday morning (November 19) that had been struck in Main Valley in the Main-Kinzig district. The trailer, a trailer that is intended for the transport of cars, was stolen between 11:15 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. But the owner had taken care of and equipped the trailer with a GPS station!
The GPS signal led the police directly on the trail of the perpetrators. On Tuesday morning, the signal indicated that the trailer on the A7 moved north. A search was initiated immediately. Around 7:30 a.m., the emergency services discovered a Mercedes Sprinter on which the trailer was attached. The car was stopped and checked at the Wülferode rest area. Two men aged 45 and 46 who have no residence in Germany were sitting in the vehicle.
arrest and custody
The two suspects were temporarily arrested and brought to the police station in Hildesheim. Interestingly, they made use of their right to refuse. At the request of the public prosecutor, they were presented to the judge on Wednesday (November 20), who ordered pre -trial detention. However, the arrest warrant against one of the men under conditions was set out.
The investigation shows that the two suspects had parked the trailer between 0:10 and 3:50 a.m. in Gelnhausen to possibly make manipulations. The police ask witnesses who have observed suspicious in Maintal or Gelnhausen to report on the phone number (06181) 100123. About a month ago, a GPS station had already helped to find a stolen vehicle in Bad Soden-Salmünster when a van was stopped with stolen bicycles.
