Bishop Wilmer: Children in need need our help - this is how you can help!

Hildesheim, Deutschland - On January 12, 2025, Bishop Heiner Wilmer celebrated a service with young majesties in Hildesheim. The event began with a colorful preliminary program that included songs and movement games. In his sermon, Bishop Wilmer expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to carrying the blessing of God in the apartments and houses of the people.

The bishop addressed the challenging living conditions of many children worldwide who live in extreme poverty. He spoke about children who have to work in the mine and are not allowed to go to school. He particularly emphasized the commitment of the young majesties who collect money to promote projects to support the poorest children worldwide. After the service, everyone present received a personal blessing. Before the Vicariate General, the Maltese waited for the participants with a snack and hot drinks.

Bishop Wilmer's concern about poverty in Germany

He believes that the church can and should do much more to offer concrete aid measures, such as financial support for socially disadvantaged people. Wilmer has changed his own behavior by turning heaters down and increasing time with needy people. He warns of increasing social tensions and sees the need for more social and political measures to combat poverty and injustice.

Wilmer calls for a global look and solidarity with people outside of Europe and is grateful for the growing commitment of the population for solidarity, especially by donating on boards and aid organizations.
