Last chance: 100,000 euros for projects in Varel, Bockhorn and Zetel!

A total of 100,000 euros are now available to support social projects in the communities of Varel, Bockhorn and Zetel. This sum is the last remainder from the Varel-Friesische Wehde Community Foundation, which was recently dissolved. The money was divided between the three municipalities, with Varel receiving 54,000 euros, Zetel receiving 27,000 euros and Bockhorn receiving around 19,000 euros. The funds must be distributed promptly and applications are now open.

The community foundation specialized in supporting projects that particularly appeal to young people, promote cultural initiatives or serve crime prevention and education. The local administrations are now asked to select suitable projects and support them financially, as long as they are in line with the foundation's purpose. This not only gives clubs and institutions the opportunity to apply for funds, but also individuals who have innovative ideas for the community.

Additional details on application procedures

The municipality of Zetel is accepting applications until November 30th. Interested parties should submit their applications via email gemeinde@zetel.de send. A crucial criterion for consideration is a detailed financing plan and a clear explanation of how the project fulfills the foundation's purpose. A similar approach also applies in Bockhorn. Applications can be submitted there gemeinde@bockhorn.de sent or submitted in person to the town hall. The decision on which projects will be funded will be made on November 6th.

A number of applications have already accumulated in the city of Varel, meaning that the available funds may be oversubscribed. The members of the School, Culture and Sports Committee must decide on the applications at their meeting on November 25th. Those interested are encouraged to submit their projects as quickly as possible in order to benefit from the funding.

These last funds are particularly important because they can have a lasting impact on social projects in the region. Traditionally, these funds are aimed at promoting charitable tasks that support marginalized social groups or promote integration. The commitment to the common good should continue even after the foundation is dissolved, and the current pots offer a valuable opportunity for this.

The foundation has thus left a legacy that those responsible in Varel, Zetel and Bockhorn can now use to strengthen the community. It remains to be seen which innovative projects the population will propose for funding. Interested parties should contact their local authorities to take advantage of the opportunities this latest distribution offers them.
