Wiefelstede, Deutschland - parents in Ammerland are desperate! Again and again they have to complain about lessons at their schools - and the official statistics show a distorted picture! According to the school authority, teaching is regularly recorded, but the sick days of the teachers remain unmentioned. However, reality looks different! The situation at the Wiefelstede primary school was particularly dramatic, which caused excitement a year and a half ago with the one -week loss of lessons. Thanks to external teachers, the situation has stabilized there, but what does it look elsewhere?

With an outburst of anger on the tongue, Björn Thümler, CDU MP, asked the burnest question: "How can it be that my daughter is constantly without lessons despite an official teaching supply of 97.2 percent?" His frustration is understandable! He refers to an assessment of the union, which considers a lesson supply of 107 percent necessary in order to also be able to cover short -term failures. The state government admits that 107 percent are utopian in times of blatant teachers' lack of teachers, but remains that economy is the requirement of the hour.

But there are also bright spots in the dark school system! The high schools in Ammerland exceed the lean national average of only 93.9 percent with a lesson supply of 96.8 percent. And the primary schools in the district even shine with 100.7 percent! Only the high schools stand out at 104.3 percent and leave the rest behind. A year after the worrying deadline in August 2022, the KGS Rastede, which concluded the worst, increased its supply rate to a considerable 99.6 percent. A real effort for the largest general school in Ammerland!

But the shock sits deeply at the vocational schools, where the numbers slide clearly into the basement! On November 15, 2023, the professional entry school reported a degrading supply of only 81.6 percent! The other schools in vocational training are also anything but good, with a maximum of 92.1 percent and a grotesque reality that cannot be ignored. The State School Office admits that the sick days are not recorded and emphasizes that less than 100 percent do not necessarily mean lessons - an excuse that parents and students cannot calm down!
