Roth was a visionary entrepreneur who transferred responsibility for the family company to his children at an early stage. The entrepreneur joined his father's operation in 1961 and transformed the craft business founded in 1947 into an international company with around 1,400 employees and 28 production and sales facilities worldwide.

Roth Industries is now the world market leader in the areas of energy storage systems, area heating and cooling systems as well as composite technologies. From 1990 to 2001 Roth also held the office of President of the Dillenburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry. For his years of voluntary work, he was awarded the Cross of Merit on the ribbon of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2007. His support was given numerous social organizations, cultural projects and the cooperation between the economy and educational institutions.

Roth also had a close connection to the Philipps University in Marburg. He recorded his family history and that of the company in three books, and a series of books on entrepreneurship in the region was already in the works, with two volumes already published.
