JJ and Conchita Wurst - a musical connection

JJ was selected internally to represent Austria at the ESC in Basel this year and will be accompanied by the former ESC winner Conchita Wurst. Conchita, who came to fame with "Rise Like A Phoenix" in 2014 and brought Austria the second victory, published a mash-up version of her contributions with JJ. JJ describes the collaboration as "simply incredible" and was overwhelmed in the performance of feelings of happiness. Conchita, in turn, praises JJ for his professionalism and describes his singing as timeless.
JJ is currently on a promo tour and recently appeared at the Dutch Eurovision Pre Party in Amsterdam before he will take part in the London Eurovision Party and the Spanish Preparty in Madrid.

With his ambitions to bring the song contest to Austria back to Austria in 2026, JJ is in second place in the betting odds behind Sweden. Austria took part in the entire ESC history 55 times and was able to win twice, which underlines the importance of this event for the country.

The ESC is considered one of the most traditional music events that took place for the first time in 1956. The 68th edition of the competition took place in Malmö, Sweden in 2024 and was followed by 163 million viewers worldwide. In Germany, around 7.38 million people switched on.
