On March 3, 2025, the world's day of hearing will be celebrated worldwide, an event that is associated in Germany with increasing awareness of the importance of hearing health. While 47 % of people with hearing loss already wear hearing aids, a worrying part of those affected remains unaffected. Simon Bitsche, State Guild Master of the Vorarlberg hearing care professionals, explains that three out of four people who need a hearing aid. Often they don't even know that they suffer from hearing loss. In order to address this problem, the expert recommends regular hearing tests from the age of 40, since early detection is crucial.

The Eurotrak Germany Hearing study shows a clear trend: the use of hearing systems increases and contributes to improving the quality of life of those affected. 96 % of working hearing aid wearers state that they benefit from their devices in the job. In addition, 55 % of the workers with hearing aids believe that they can work longer due to this technology. In order to counteract hearing loss, Prof. Dr. Jan Löhler, President of the German Professional Association of Nasal Nose and throat doctors, the need for a health insurance-financed specialist hearing privacy from the age of 50. "Regular hearing tests every two years can help to recognize a hearing reduction at an early stage," said Löhler.

Satisfaction among hearing aid wearers is high: nine out of ten are satisfied with the advice from their hearing care professional. The world day of hearing not only serves to provide information about hearing loss, but also to call for personal responsibility for hearing health. Under the motto "Understand more, experience more", the population should be encouraged not to hesitate and become active at an early stage. The results of the Eurotrak listening study show that hearing aids can significantly increase the feeling of security and the social participation of those affected. These findings are crucial in order to promote the acceptance of hearing systems in society and to improve the quality of life of people with hearing damage, as also emphasized the initiative of hearing health.
