Serious crash on B 62: Two drivers fight for their lives!

Drama on the B 62! On Monday morning at 7:05 a.m. there was a terrible head-on collision between Bad Hersfeld and Niederaula. A 22-year-old BMW driver from Breitenbach am Herzberg lost control on a wet road and crashed directly into the oncoming Skoda of a 27-year-old from Bad Hersfeld-Petersberg. Both drivers suffered serious injuries and had to be taken to nearby hospitals by ambulance. A rescue helicopter was also deployed, while the B 62 remained closed for rescue work until around 9:20 a.m. The property damage? A huge amount of around 18,000 euros!
More accidents on Sunday
But that wasn't the only accident! On Sunday around 2 p.m. another incident occurred on highway 3338 between Sichenhausen and Breungeshain. A 32-year-old Scottish man skidded in his Renault Twingo and slipped under an oncoming Land Rover belonging to a British holidaymaker. The Land Rover tipped onto its side and both the 51-year-old driver and his 47-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries. The Twingo driver wasn't left unscathed either. All three injured people were taken to hospitals and property damage is estimated at at least 13,000 euros.
Another accident occurred in Ludwigsau on Sunday at 1:50 p.m. when an 85-year-old driver collided with a 37-year-old BMW while pulling out of a parking lot. The material damage amounted to around 2,900 euros. And not to forget, a 65-year-old driver from Bad Hersfeld lost control of his Mazda on the B 62 at 4:05 p.m. on Sunday and it crashed into the guardrail - the damage here amounts to around 8,600 euros. The rain-soaked roads seem to be a dangerous challenge for drivers!
