Göttingen is buzzing with exciting events this week! On Tuesday, November 5th, cardiac surgery will be the subject of an informative lecture by Ahmad Fawad Jebran, senior physician at the Göttingen University Medical Center. From 6 p.m., listeners will learn everything about minimally invasive techniques in cardiac surgery. Anyone interested in social issues should not miss Berthold Vogel's lecture series on cohesion in democracy at 6:15 p.m. in the auditorium at Wilhelmsplatz. Another highlight is the self-help group for leukemia and lymphoma, which meets at 7 p.m. in the parish hall of St. Albani Church.

A celebration of music and culture

The musical delights continue on Tuesday with a concert by the Stock-Wettin duo, who will present contemporary music for clarinet and accordion in the Werkraum at 8 p.m. Peter Kemper's book presentation on the political aesthetics of jazz in the Göttingen Literaturhaus at 8 p.m. also promises exciting insights. On Wednesday, November 6th, there will be several events, including a stem cell registration campaign in the university's central lecture hall building from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and a lecture on 75 years of the Basic Law at 3:30 p.m. in the St. Jacobi community hall.

Thursday is dedicated to current economic issues with a lecture by Christoph Spengel on tax abuse in the Paulinerkirche at 4 p.m. The heat pump week starts on Friday in the starting room, where information about environmentally friendly heating technologies will be provided from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. A storytelling café about “Grandmas against the Right” and a farewell lecture on “Affairs of the Heart” are also on the program. At the weekend things get really lively with dance gala performances and a concert by the Rhenish Brass Quartet in the St. Martini Church.
