Shock in Hamburg-Horn: cyclist seriously injured – witnesses wanted!
Hamburg in turmoil! On November 13, 2024, at 6:30 a.m., a dramatic traffic accident occurred in Hamburg-Horn when a 47-year-old cyclist collided with a Ford Transit while crossing the Horner Rampe street. The cyclist, who was riding an e-bike, suffered serious injuries. Rescue measures initiated immediately resulted in the man receiving emergency medical care and being transported to a hospital. The exact circumstances of the accident are still unclear and the police are asking the public for help in clarifying this tragic incident.
Chaos due to construction site!
The accident site is in the area of a construction site where there is only one lane in each direction for traffic. Pedestrians and cyclists can safely cross the road closures using an on-demand traffic light. An accident investigation team from the city center/west traffic department was deployed at the scene of the accident, supported by an expert and a 3D scanner from the State Criminal Police Office, in order to reconstruct the exact events. For the duration of the investigation, the Horn ramp had to be completely closed at times, which significantly affected morning traffic flows.
After the accident happened, all eyes are on the driver of the Ford Transit, who is 61 years old. Authorities are now checking whether traffic rules in the form of red traffic lights may have been ignored. The search for witnesses who can provide information about the cause of the damage is ongoing. The police ask anyone who has observed anything to call 040/ 4286-56789.
