Eutin.A young couple from Hamburg embarked on a bold robbery in a discount store in Timmendorfer Strand! Equipped with special thief vests, they stole food worth around 50 euros. Normally this would have been just a small case of shoplifting, but the clever “tools” turned the crime into serious theft, which was now being tried in the Eutin district court.

In August 2022, the 31-year-old man and the 30-year-old woman entered the market accompanied by an accomplice who supported them. With a clever plan, they grabbed rump steaks, fruit, vegetables and sweets while protecting each other. The defense admitted the allegations without further ado. The crimes were committed out of a desperate financial situation. “The stolen goods are not luxury goods, but things for personal use,” explained a lawyer. The young father confessed that he wanted to support his family in a difficult situation and was tricked into stealing by a “false friend”. Despite the seriousness of the crime, the court came to a surprising verdict: the proceedings were discontinued for a payment of 600 euros each, as both defendants now have permanent jobs.
