Heidelberg celebrates: New mascot Accy” delights basketball fans!

An exciting event for MLP Academics Heidelberg! On Friday, November 15th, the brand new mascot “Accy” was introduced during the home game against Hamburg. This vibrant figure proudly bears the number 99 and was created in collaboration with Heidelberg Marketing. Inspired by the famous Heidelberg bridge monkey, a symbol of the city, Accy will conquer the hearts of fans!

The basketball players from Heidelberg finally have their own mascot, which will be present at all home games and events. The decision to base Accy on the bridge monkey is no coincidence: the old bridge is a popular tourist attraction, and the bridge monkey has attracted visitors from all over the world for centuries. Those responsible are convinced that this mascot fits the Academics perfectly and further strengthens the connection to the city.

A new star for the fans

Matthias Lautenschläger, the managing partner, is enthusiastic: "Basketball and mascots: they simply belong together! We are incredibly pleased that we were finally able to present this very successful mascot in collaboration with Heidelberg Marketing. I am sure that young and old will have a lot of fun with it and Accy will enrich our organization in many ways!"
