Memorial hour in St. Wendel: Honor for the victims of the world wars

On Sunday, November 17th, the district town of St. Wendel will become a place of remembrance! Citizens are invited to take part in a moving memorial service for Remembrance Day, which begins at 11 a.m. in the cemetery hall of St. Wendel Cemetery. A day dedicated to the victims of both world wars and which will touch the hearts of those present!

A celebration of memories

The musical design of the memorial service will be provided by the renowned St. Wendel City Orchestra 1865 “Harmonie” and the Urweiler Music Association. They will accompany the ceremony with moving sounds. This year Gerhard Koepke, a man with many achievements, will appear as a speaker. The retired pastor and honorary citizen of St. Wendel brings not only his wisdom, but also his passion for the community to this special event. He is also chairman of the Adolf Bender Center and the Christian Hospice Aid in the St. Wendel district - a true anchor in the region!

Together in mourning

The moving memorial service in the hall will be followed by a joint funeral march to the cenotaph in the cemetery. There the orchestra will play a solemn chorale while the mayor of St. Wendel lays a wreath on behalf of the city. This ceremony will end with a silent remembrance that will give the dead the honor they deserve. A day of reflection, mourning and gratitude - an indispensable part of the St. Wendel tradition!
