The ARA flight rescue presented your annual balance sheet 2024 and recorded an increase in operations. A total of 2425 missions were carried out last year, which corresponds to a light plus compared to 2023. The emergency medical helicopter RK2, stationed in marriage, was particularly active with 1096 missions. This increase is due to increasing demand at night, especially in the case of complex rescue actions in difficult alpine terrain. Flight operations manager Herbert Graf explains that the duty and the ability to recall wind make the ARA a sought -after partner across Austria and southern Germany.

The ARA flight rescue operations are divided into different emergencies. According to this, around 31 % of operations are eliminated on internal emergencies, followed by about 27 % for alpine sports and leisure accidents and 13 % for neurological emergencies. 90 people are currently employed for the ARA flight rescue, including pilots, wind operators, flight rescuers and emergency doctors. At all three locations, a four -person crew is flown, which can be supplemented by special forces if necessary to increase the security standards.
In addition, it was reported that the helicopters, in particular RK1 and RK2, are increasingly active outside of their traditional federal states, which underlines the operational and flexibility of the flight rescue.
