Nienburg.A shocking explosion shook the Medbuy company on the Südring in Nienburg on April 5, 2023! The reason? A gas grill that was brought into the building after a merry barbecue caused a huge bang at 11 p.m., terrifying those around.

Initially, only one employee was targeted for negligently causing an explosive explosion. But now the investigations by the Nienburg police and the Verden public prosecutor's office have taken a dramatic turn: two employees are now in focus! Prosecutor Alexander Hege confirmed that the investigation is continuing and those responsible will be held accountable.

Millions in damage caused by explosion!

Fortunately, there were no injuries in this violent detonation, which caused millions in damage! There was no one left in the building at the time of the explosion, and the flying debris that landed on the southern ring road did not injure any cars or passers-by. But the destruction was enormous: the building was so badly damaged that it had to be demolished and rebuilt. There was no fire, but the consequences of the explosion were devastating!

Medbuy only moved into the building in January 2021 after building a new one due to a lack of space in the old premises on Bismarckstrasse. A year after the explosion, in spring 2024, the company will move into the new building while temporarily renting office space in the HARKE publishing house. The cleanup work and the search for those responsible continue!
