Esterhazy 2025: Ecstasy and star appearances await visitors!

The Esterhàzy private foundation under the direction of Rico Gulda, who has been a neo-general director since March 1, is relating to an exciting cultural agenda for 2025. Gulda is responsible for an ambitious artistic program that is supposed to master the balancing act between art and economy. Last year, around 600,000 people visited the various Esterhàzy locations, a sign of flourishing cultural tourism in the region. Among the highlights of last season, the acclaimed performance of the opera "AIDA", which attracted 100,000 guests in the St. Margarethen, as well as the autumn gold festival, which recorded 5,000 visitors.

This year the autumn gold festival will take place from September 10th to 21st under the motto "Ecstasy". Director Julian Rachlin will lead the festival, while the Chamber Orchestra of Europe acts as a residence orchestra. The prominent guests include Pianist András Schiff and the star violinist Janine Jansen, who will take part in the opening. There are planned performances of Beethoven's 2nd Symphony, Stravinski's "Pulcinella-Suite" and Tchaikovsky's "Variations about a Rococo topic".
