Discounter Tedi takes over empty Kaufhof branches before Christmas!

Amid the flood of bankruptcies in Germany, a German discounter is bringing new life to the empty branches of Galeria Kaufhof! The retail space, which was once a popular destination for fashion enthusiasts, will now be transformed into Tedi department stores, before Christmas 2024!

The fashion trade is currently experiencing a dramatic setback, as the impending closure of all Esprit branches clearly demonstrates. This bitter reality leads to an oversupply of business premises in city centers. The situation has brought Tedi, the up-and-coming discounter, onto the scene, which is planning to move into several former Kaufhof branches and offer its large selection of household and decorative items there. In an exciting expansion, Tedi aims to take over retail power!

Discounter Tedi active in 8 cities

Particularly mild days will soon come to an end in Reutlingen, Hildesheim, Pforzheim, Wuppertal, Siegburg, Schweinfurt, Darmstadt and Kempten. These cities can look forward to the opening of new Tedi branches, where every cent counts and the offer is just bubbling. But the adventure for Tedi has been declared as a temporary lease for the time being, because the future of these businesses remains uncertain.

According to Tedi expansion boss Fabian Kampa, the company is initially operating on a temporary basis. This means that the Kaufhof branches are only temporarily filled with goods until a long-term rental agreement is found. Still, the search for bargains will bring customers in droves as the discounter continues its impressive growth story and plans more stores than ever before!
