The pools in Burghausen recorded high numbers of visitors during the 2024/2025 Christmas holidays. Almost 25,000 guests were welcomed over a period of eleven days, which corresponds to a daily average of 2,231 visitors. Particularly noteworthy is January 3, 2025, which is the day with the most visitors with 2,749 guests. The indoor pool had 2,369 visitors and the sauna 380. Another popular day was January 2nd, when a total of 2,687 visitors came.
For the baths in Burghausen, the overall record for the number of visitors, which is 3,044, was not exceeded. There were no significant accidents during the holidays, only minor injuries such as abrasions that were quickly treated. Mayor Florian Schneider was pleased with the achievements of the pool team and the support of the water rescue service.
A look at previous years
In comparison, the pools in Burghausen recorded a total of 29,000 visitors during the 2023/24 Christmas holidays. Of these, 25,000 went to the indoor swimming pool and 3,700 to the sauna, resulting in an average daily visit of 2,395 guests. January 3, 2024 was the day with the most visitors with 2,970 guests. This was the third highest result for the indoor pool since 1972 and the second best for the sauna. In all of 2023, the baths welcomed 540,000 guests, the highest number of visitors since 2018.
The planned roof renovation of the indoor swimming pool, which was originally planned for spring 2024, has been postponed to April 2026, with construction work scheduled to be completed by the turn of the year 2027/28. First Mayor Florian Schneider also made it clear that there is no safety risk with the indoor pool roof and that regular static monitoring is carried out to ensure the safety of visitors.
