Beer break Schönberg: A hidden gem for celebrations and socializing!

Schoenberg.Dieter Höppner’s “Zur Bierpause” pub, which opened two years ago in the Eichkampredder industrial estate, is buzzing with life! This charming pub, which at first glance looks like a garden shed, has quickly made a name for itself. The CDU regulars' table in the Schönberg community praises the cozy atmosphere and the opportunity to celebrate undisturbed while the music is turned up. It can accommodate up to 40 guests and the advantages of this pub have long been known in the area.

The 69-year-old Höppner fulfilled a long-held dream with “Zur Bierpause”. “I wanted to be a Kröger 30 years ago,” he reveals. After his career as a haulage contractor, he took advantage of the opportunity when the tennis center in Schönberg closed. He skillfully built the pub using four log cabins and a massive bar that was hoisted into the building by crane. "I had no problems with the permits. I spent four years building it," he explains proudly.

Curiosities during the beer break

• Lampen aus alten Brettern: Die einzigartigen Lampen in der Kneipe stammen aus alten Schwartenbrettern, die Höppner als Abbruchunternehmer gesammelt hat. „Ich habe hier alles allein gemacht, bis auf die Elektrik“, erzählt er.
• Alte Eggen als Garderobe: Sogar die Garderobe ist kreativ! Alte Eggen aus landwirtschaftlichen Betrieben dienen als Aufhängung für die Bierhumpen, die aus einem ehemaligen Gasthof stammen.

The beer break has become a popular venue. From birthday parties to weddings, bookings for next year are already in full swing. Höppner and his partner Susann Glindemann ensure that the guests don't miss anything. The pub is open on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 6 p.m. Anyone who is hungry can rely on the support of caterers, while Höppner himself takes care of the barbecue evenings in summer. A place that invites you to celebrate and tell stories – that is the beer break in Schönberg!
