New elections of farmers: ÖVP farmers' association loses voices, remains stable!

Berlin, Deutschland - The ÖVP-Bauernbund has won the elections to the Chamber of Agriculture in Lower Austria, despite a slight decline of three percent. Top candidate Johannes Schmuckenschlager, who is also President of the Lower Austria Chamber of Agriculture (LKNÖ), expressed a positive statement about the election result, especially in view of the current challenges, such as complaints from the FPÖ and critical statements by Greenpeace, who heated the minds in the weeks before the election, like the NÖN reported.

In addition to this, the German Farmers' Association (DBV), the largest advocacy group for agriculture in Germany, is active with a membership of around 90 percent of agricultural businesses through the regional associations. It serves as a umbrella organization for the 18 state farmers' associations and has established itself as a influential voice in political decisions in both Berlin and Brussels, as can be found on the wikipedia . The history of the DBV is closely linked to the development of the organized advocacy of farmers in Germany, which after the farmers' exemption in the 19th century and still plays an important role in the agricultural policy area.

The election result in Lower Austria and the significance of the DBV show the dynamic challenges that agricultural interest groups face, and the need to adapt to changed social and economic framework. Both organizations are faced with the task of effectively representing the concerns of their members in an increasingly complex political and economic environment.
