Stauchaos at the start of the holiday: travelers have to prove patience!
Already in the early morning hours was felt on the Austrian transit routes lively travel due to the beginning carnival holidays in Bavaria. As vorarlberg.orf.at reported, it was cleared on the Arlberg Schnellstraße (S16) between Bludenz and Dalaas in the direction of Innsbruck. There, traffic is currently being handled in front of the Langen tunnel. In Tyrol, the Fernpasstriebe (B179) is particularly affected; Block clearance was introduced on the border tunnel Füssen, which slowly progresses the journey in Reutte. In addition, there were always waiting times of up to 30 minutes on the A12 between Kiefersfelden and the Bavarian border.
The situation continues to complicain by two large construction sites on the Austrian streets. According to Br.de there are delays on the A13 burner highway (A10). The Luegbrücke on the A13 has only been driven by a lane since January 1, which further tightens the traffic situation. This measure should be carried out until a new building is completed, but can lead to considerable traffic jams. The general renovation of the tunnels in Salzburg has also repeatedly led to block dismissals since September 2022. In the direction of travel Villach, bypasses across side routes are also prohibited until the end of March, which also puts travelers under pressure.
