Erlangen/Munich –Shocking weapons discovery in Bavaria! A 62-year-old man hoarded an entire arsenal of military weapons in his apartment. The public prosecutor's office's investigations are in full swing, and an extremist background cannot be ruled out!

Police stormed a high-rise building in Erlangen on Thursday, where they dragged boxes full of weapons from the suspect's apartment and basement. The man is now in custody while the Bavarian Central Office for Combating Extremism and Terrorism has taken over the investigation.

Original reason: healing water!

The criminal police were originally on site because of a completely different suspicion: the 62-year-old was targeted on suspicion of violating the Medicines Act. He is said to have sold “charged water” for healing purposes. But during the search, the officers came across the shocking cache of weapons!

The result of the raid is alarming: In the apartment and in the basement, investigators found 5 submachine guns, 5 assault rifles, 25 long guns, several handguns and a huge supply of suitable ammunition.“The weapons of war were functional and some were even loaded,”said a spokesman for the Attorney General's Office.

Previously charged suspect

The authorities are now investigating where the weapons came from and why the man hoarded them. According to information from “Spiegel”, the suspect is an esoteric dealer who was already known to the police for incitement to hatred and using the symbols of unconstitutional organizations. Fortunately, there is currently no evidence of any immediate danger to the population!
