Berchtesgaden - On Saturday, October 19, 2024, four friends from Vilsbiburg, Landshut district, went on a fateful trip to Berchtesgadener Land. They had agreed to do some drifting on Roßfeldstrasse in their two heavily modified BMWs. However, what started as a casual evening of fun and thrills ended in a serious incident.
Soon after their arrival, the men carried out several drifts near the remains and then shifted their activities to the Roßfeldskihütte. They pressed the accelerator pedals of their vehicles so hard that the road was covered in tire tracks. But the joy didn't last long. The 20-year-old driver of one of the BMWs eventually lost control of his car when he approached a 90-degree curve at a significantly excessive speed. The rear wheels of his vehicle spun before it eventually left the road.
Accident details and reactions
As a result, the car slid approximately 20 meters down a steep slope and was only stopped by a spruce tree. Fortunately, the driver and his passengers were uninjured. However, the vehicle had to be recovered by a towing company. The police are now investigating the person who caused the accident for dangerous interference with road traffic, as driving at such speed and in such a reckless manner was clearly against traffic.
But it wasn't just the first driver who got into trouble. The second vehicle that belonged to the group was also examined by officers from the Berchtesgaden police station. It was discovered that the operating license for this car had also expired. The catalytic converters had been removed to produce higher noise levels and the vehicle was significantly lowered, resulting in drag marks on the wheel arch liner. The second driver, also 20 years old, will now be punished with a fine.
The first arriving rescue service crew was alerted around 6:30 p.m. and found the men, fortunately uninjured. The fire department secured the scene of the accident and ensured fire protection while the police documented the incident. This situation highlights the dangers of reckless driving and the potential consequences of such actions.
Details about this incident are still sparse, however reports www.rosenheim24.de that the young men were able to get out of the vehicle on their own, which made the fate of this supposedly dangerous situation more bearable.
