FPÖ under pressure: Ministry of the Interior in the sights of a new U-committee!
On April 4, 2025, the FPÖ plans to target the Interior Ministry (U-Committee) of the Interior Ministry. The National Council Club of the FPÖ sees numerous irregularities in the Ministry of the Interior and speaks of a "deep black state" that is to be illuminated. The internal decision-making process on the subject of the investigation has almost been completed, whereby speculation brought the cause of the late Justice Section Director Christian Pilnacek as a possible object of investigation. In addition, the FPÖ strives to examine the corona measures of the last federal government in order to ensure transparency and education.
However, the FPÖ is criticized because it is not planning a U-committee to process the Corona measures. According to an internal source of the MFG Austria, this committee will not come about. MP Manuel Krautgartner from the MFG outlines the situation as a valid reason for concern, because the FPÖ, which appeared in the election campaign as a recovery party, now seems to break its promises. This raises questions about the prioritization of political power about the necessary education and justice.
Criticism of the FPÖ and demands for transparency
According to LAbg. Joachim Aigner from the MFG, a U-committee has extensive powers that a commission cannot achieve. This leads to inadequate information about the measures taken during pandemic. Similarly, LAbg. Dagmar Häusler expresses that the FPÖ has withdrawn from its project for fear of government negotiations. The MFG also criticizes the ÖVP, which, according to its assessment, benefits from the pandemic and demands decisive steps to take responsibility and consequences for the Corona measures carried out.
The FPÖ also shows a change of course in other important topics. So she promised the abolition of CO₂ tax, but only deleted the climate bonus. Your attitude for questions about the “Sky Shield” project remains unclear at the government negotiations.
In order to draw attention to the promise of the FPÖ, which is perceived as broken, the MFG has announced a press conference for February 5, 2025. This is intended to focus on the need for a real Corona process.
