10 years Singing Community Steuerberg
This performance not only marks the festive season, but also the 10-year history of the Singing Community Steuerberg. The foundation goes back to Alois Spitzer and Franz Ofer, who invited a decade ago to launch a choir association. Helga Leitner, the current chairwoman, remembered how challenging the formation of a board was. The choir in 2012 had the first appearance as part of a charity evening in the Kulturhaus Steuerberg. The choir director Monika Pluch-Rainer has managed to develop a wide repertoire that includes both traditional Carinthian songs and modern Austropop hits. The plans for a special anniversary concert are already in the works, whereby the singing community wants to inspire the domestic audience, as Klick-kaernten.at
Currently the singing community counts 25 active singers, and the chairwoman hopes that even more young people will join the community to make music together and continue the legacy of the choir.
