Theo day at the University of Salzburg: Discover students faith and future!
On February 6, 2025, the “Theo Day” took place for the first time at the University of Salzburg, which was organized by the Erzdiozese Salzburg and the Faculty of Catholic theological. On this exciting information day, 433 students from 18 schools took part in learning more about professional fields in the Catholic Church and studying theology. The opening of the event was shaped by top -class speakers, including Archbishop Franz Lackner and Dean Professor Dietmar W. Winkler, who shared their personal experiences and insights into the connection of theology and philosophy. Archbishop Lackner emphasized how critical questions and mutual support are essential by talking about his own career from the UN soldier to the priest. A central highlight was the discussion with the title "Faith and Science? Why Collection creates knowledge", in which the participants researched the interactions between science and religion.

The participants had the opportunity to actively explore topics such as resilience and spiritual practice in seven different workshops. The lecture by Slam poet Helene Ziegler, who addressed the individual life of life and the importance of his own decisions, was particularly inspiring. Auxiliary Bishop Hansjörg Hofer encouraged the young people to bring their talents into the church and thus enrich the community.
Another essential aspect of this day was the prominent role of the college church, which adorns the University of Salzburg with its baroque architecture and its UNESCO World Heritage Status and is considered the cultural center of the city.
