Protection for Vienna's children: New guidelines strengthen child protection in everyday life
Laimgrubengasse 10, 1060 Wien, Österreich - Vienna sets new standards in child protection! The city has developed a common framework guideline for the protection of children and adolescents to ensure the security of over 2,700 pupils with disabilities that are promoted annually to public schools. "With the framework directive on child and youth protection, we create a legal and practical framework to ensure the fundamental right to protection for this particularly endangered group," explains children's and youth lawyer Sebastian Öhner. A total of 1,300 young customers of the Social Affairs Vienna were promoted by recognized travel service companies such as Blaguss MBS and Waka in 2023, which underlines the high importance of protection.
The Viennese schools, represented by department head Andrea Trattnig, emphasize that the safety of the children is the focus of the new child protection concept. The focus here is on a barrier -free and inclusive participation in the education system for all compulsory students in the city. The joint development of standards to ensure the child's well-being was realized in an intensive workshop process under the direction of the Child and Youth Prosecutor's Office in Vienna (Kija Vienna) in order to establish effective protective measures.
