Austria inspires with Euroskills 2025: 12 medals and many winners!

Austria achieved an impressive medal mirror at the Euroskills 2025 in Denmark. The Austria Austria won a total of 12 medals, including six gold, three silver and three bronze. These successes are the result of a committed training and the support of 36 experts: inside that promoted the 44 young specialists from Austria in 36 professions. The event took place in the Jyske Bank-Arena in Herning and attracted over 15,000 visitors, including Denmark Monarch Frederik X.

The seven -day event, which opened on September 9, 2025 with a ceremonial opening show, ended on September 13th. Austria provided the largest team in Europe with 44 participants and was proud that there were also 13 women among them who represented the largest female team.

Medal for medal: the highlights

The success of the Austrian team was underlined by various outstanding individual services. Jonas Danninger from Upper Austria was awarded the highest number of points as "Best of Nation". Leonie Tieber also made history from Styria by becoming the first European car technology champion. Sara Sinhuber from Lower Austria was able to win the gold medal for the fourth championship in a row.

Other gold medals went to Elena Mathis (Vorarlberg, Hotel-Reception), Johannes Gstrein (Tyrol, sanitary and heating technology) as well as to the two Lukas Miedler and Lukas Ritzberger from Lower Austria and Upper Austria in concrete construction. The silver medals secured Martin Riegler (Upper Austria, plant electrics), Markus Manser (Vorarlberg, floor layer) and the Miriam Haider (Upper Austria) and Theresa Fink (Salzburg, fashion technology). Three bronze medals were awarded to Tarik Begeta and Stefan Tomp (Vienna, IT network and system administration), Katharina Höller (Styria, painting) and Daniel Schinagl (Upper Austria, welding).

The importance of success

The success of the team is not only an honor for the young specialists, but also illustrate the strength of vocational training in Austria. Skillsaustria President Josef Herk and Managing Director Jürgen Kraft emphasized the importance of these competitions for the participants and the country. This year, the focus was not only on the sporting aspect, but also on the presentation of diversity and excellence in the various professions, which are promoted by international competitions such as the Euroskills and Worldskills.

The next Euroskills will take place in Düsseldorf in 2027 and bring parents and young specialists together from all over Europe. Over 800 participants between the ages of 18 and 25 are expected there more than 30 nations. Germany's participation and event is funded by the BMBF, which also supports the preparation of the national team to achieve successful results.

Overall, the Euroskills are not only a competition, but also a platform to promote the attractiveness of vocational training. Team Austria's achievements are clear evidence that commitment and excellent training bear fruit and can bring young talents to the top.
